I Origins

i originsI should not like this film.

It employs an opening narration and quickly forgets about it; it shuffles from the romantic, to the creepy, to the suspenseful, and even the uplifting, ruining any coherence it might’ve had had it stuck to just one mood; it wastes an intriguing premise that would pit science against God, and leave us wondering, “Is that it?”

And yet.

Brit Marling’s incredible talent aside (I greatly admire her creative output), the film has beautiful and haunting images, which really help keep the picture afloat.
That alone makes it worthwhile.
